The Manila City government on Wednesday, February 12, inaugurated the Musical Dancing Fountain at the Bonifacio Shrine, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan led the inauguration and dedicated the initiative to Manileños.

The dancing fountain swayed in tune of ‘Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas’ and other Filipino novelty songs as the lights moved in sync with the water.

When viewed from above, the fountain forms the Philippine National Flag—the symbol of our country’s valor.

Domagoso highlighted the city government’s effort to revive the glory of the nation’s capital and its impact in uplifting the people’s morale.

“When I heard a child said, ‘Uy ang ganda no’n!’ That is priceless. That is what you call governance. When you put a smile on their faces, hindi kayang tumbasan ng anumang salapi ang kasiyahan ng iyong mamamayan,” he said.

“This is not for us, this is for the people. It’s for you. You deserve it,” the Mayor added.

Likewise, Domagoso invited everyone to visit the city and delight in its new vibrancy.

“Malugod namin kayong iniimbitahan, inaanyayahan kayo ng city government, go back to Manila. Come home to Manila,” he said. (Photos by MPIO Team)
