Description:
Philippine swamphen is a species of swamphen occuring in the Philippines. It used to be considered a subspecies of the purple swamphen, ehich it resembles, but has olive-chesnut mantle and scapulars, and the whole plumage is tinged with ash-grey.

Distribution:
Philippines

Habitat:
Reed beds, swamps, lake edges and damp pastures

Diet:
Tender shoots and vegetable-like matter, invetebrates, small fish and eggs
