OFFICIAL NEWS ALERT: Manila LGU begins the construction of its seventh hospital
The Manila local government broke ground on Monday, October 18, for the seventh government owned hospital in Baseco Compound.
Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso led the groundbreaking ceremony of the three-storey Pres. Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital with Manila City Vice Mayor Doktora Honey Lacuna, Cong, Yul Servo-Nieto and other city officials.
Domagoso said that the construction of the hospital will be dedicated for those living inside the Baseco compound as they struggle to find a hospital in case of emergency.
According to Domagoso, the allotted budget of P100 million will be used for the construction of the 50-bed capacity hospital and its equipment.
Among the features and amenities of Pres. Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital are the following:
- 24/7 fully operational Emergency Room with Hospital Ambulance’s Drop – Off curb
- Community inclusive Outpatient Department
- Digital X-ray equipment for the Radiology Department
- Laboratory and Central Diagnostics Department
- Centralized Medical Gas System (Oxygen Supply Line)
- Dietary Department
- 24/7 fully operational Maternity Department
- Surgery and Internal Medicine Department
- Male and Female Wards
- Pediatrics Ward
- Isolation Wards
- Service Elevator dedicated for Patients in Bed
- Passenger Elevator with 11-14 persons capacity
“We always try to be ahead of the situation for possible uncertainty because we are always certain in the City of Manila,” Domagoso said.
Vice Mayor Doktora Honey Lacuna meanwhile said that the construction of the city’s seventh government owned hospital will strengthen the health sector of the nation’s capital.
According to Lacuna, this will also aide the need of the public, particularly those in Baseco compound, to have a medical service in their area.
The Pres. Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital has an estimated area of 2,012.60 square meters and targets to be completed by June 2022.
