LOOK: City of Manila received additional COVID-related donations from the US government through US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and USAID on Saturday, August 7.
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan was joined by DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire during the handover of personal protective equipments, testing and hygiene kits.
The mayor appreciated all of the assistance given by the US government since the start of the pandemic, ranging from vaccines to equipment and other items which were all helpful in mitigating the virus.
Blinken responded by thanking all efforts made by Filipino medical workers in providing care for those struck by the virus and the assistance given during the vaccination of more than 70 million people against COVID-19
An estimated total of $33 million was distributed by the US government as aid to the Philippines during the start of the pandemic in 2020, with Manila as one of the beneficiaries.
