Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan gave her commencement speech to more than 2,600 graduates during the 24th Commencement Exercise of Universidad de Manila on Wednesday, July 20.

She reminded the students that graduation is not closing but opening a new stage in their lives.

She also asked students to hug their parents or guardians for they would not be there if not for them.

The graduation ceremony was attended by graduates of Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law, Education, Engineering and Technology, Health Sciences, and Institution of Graduate and Professional Studies.

Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto was also present during the ceremonial rites.
