IN PHOTOS: Czech Republic’s Ambassador to the Philippines Jana Sediva on Wednesday, February 10 paid a courtesy call on Manila City Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso.

During their meeting, Domagoso told the foreign envoy that the local government has been copying the Czech Republic’s program to produce and provide free face masks to the public.

In response, Ambassador Sediva commended the Manila City government’s initiative, saying that the program would provide job opportunities through the free face mask program of the nation’s capital.

Since June 2020, the Manila City government, through the Public Employment Service Office, provided jobs to unemployed tailors and sewers to produce cloth face masks for the city’s residents.

According to PESO Director Fernan Bermejo, about 1,332,868 face masks have been produced and currently being distributed by the local government as of February 4.
