BREAKING: Manila finishes ECQ ayuda distribution
The Manila City government has completed on Thursday evening, August 26, the distribution of financial aid sourced from the national government to about 380,820 families.
Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) Director Re Fugoso said all these families received about P4,000 cash aid each in just 16 days, from August 11 to August 26.
The financial aid was sourced from national government funds under the reimposition of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
As of 11:00 pm on Thursday, the MDSW reported about P1,523,280,000 worth of financial aid has already been distributed not only for all six districts of Manila, but also for transport groups and vulnerable groups in the city.
Overall data for the distribution are as follows:
District 1 to 6 (including Baseco): 369,218 families with a total of P1,467,872,000
Transport groups: 10,256 families with a total of P41,024,000
Vulnerable groups: 1,346 families with a total of P5,384,000
The MDSW is the agency authorized by the national government’s Department of Social Welfare (DSWD) to distribute the financial aid to beneficiaries.
This is in accordance with the Joint Memorandum Circular issued by the DSWD, Department of National Defense and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
