The Mayor approved the request of DPWH Engr. Mikunug Macud to conduct a rehabilitation of Remedios Street, including a drainage system in Malate, Manila.
Under the terms and conditions set by the Manila City government, the duration of the rehabilition should only be from May 21 to June 25, 2020. No extension will be granted.
Likewise, a road closure on the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be implemented during the rehabilitation period.
“Coordinate with the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau and Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit for the approval of the traffic plan,” the Mayor told DPWH.
The Mayor has discouraged heavy trucks and private vehicles to pass through Roxas Boulevard upon the discovery of road cracks.
Heavy trucks are now discouraged from using Roxas Boulevard upon discovery of several road cracks along the major thoroughfare.
Truckers going south are advised to use Padre Burgos Avenue, before exiting right to Finance Road, going through Taft Avenue towards Ayala Boulevard, then making a right turn to San Marcelino Street.
Drivers would then have to turn left towards United Nations Avenue to reach Qurino Avenue, and then taking another left to the Osmeña Highway or South Superhighway.
Private vehicles owners are likewise discouraged to use Roxas Boulevard to avoid any untoward incident.
