The Manila City government on Wednesday, January 29, signed a pact with food companies KFC and Tokyo Tokyo as well as supermarket chain Puregold to provide equal job opportunities for senior citizens and PWDs.
This means the two food companies will hire senior citizens and PWDs in all branches in the nation’s capital.
Likewise, Puregold said it will hire 48 senior citizens and PWDs for its 24 stores across the city.
Domagoso sincerely expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of equal employment programs.
“Malaking bagay ito for our seniors and PWDs and of course, more jobs for Manila,” the Mayor said.
He also highlighted the value of the city government’s initiative in promoting equality and fair access to opportunities.
“Inclusive policy—that is our goal. Those who are still capable and those who have less opportunities because of their physical challenges must still be able to join the workforce,” the Mayor said.
