Manila City Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan on late Sunday night, January 12, distributed face masks to city dwellers as ash from Taal Volcano was falling across the capital.

Lacuna was joined by heads of the Manila City government’s offices, bureaus, departments and district hospitals during the distribution.

Hundreds of masks were given to vendors, bystanders, and even the homeless along Kalaw Avenue following the order of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

Likewise, some of the homeless were brought to Delpan Evacuation for their own safety from the ash fall brought by the eruption of Taal Volcano.

Classes and local government work in the nation’s capital have also been declared suspended following the incident.
