WHAT A CROWD: Thousands of Manileños join forces to clean Baseco Beach in line with the 34th International Coastal Clean-up Day.
DATA: About 15,000 participants in the Baseco beach massive clean-up drive collected more than 3,700 sacks of garbage weighing 187,150 kilograms this morning.
The data was recorded as of 5:00 pm. National and local government agencies are still tallying additional data, which means an updated count would be released tomorrow.
The Manila Department of Public Services (DPS) said the garbage would be transported from Baseco first to Pier 18 Transfer Station, and then hauled to the Navotas Sanitary Landfill for proper disposal.
