Manila City Acting Mayor Honey Lacuna on Monday, August 26, inspected more than 20 tons of imported contraband meat from China seized by authorities in Tondo.

As of the latest tally at 5:58 pm, about 20.2 tons of banned Chinese meat worth more than P20 million has been recorded by personnnel from the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 1, the Manila Veterinary Inspection Board, and the National Meat Inspection Service.

As of writing, meat inspectors are still conducting an inventory of contraband meat stored inside unopened freezers.
