Mayor Erap, Binisita ni “PO1 Bato”

MAYOR ERAP, BINISITA NI ‘BATO.’ PO1 BATO, a larger-than-life mascot of the continuing campaign against drugs, pays a courtesy call on Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada at City Hall before embarking on his tour of duty: visiting schools and communities to bring the police closer to the people and increasing awareness – especially among the young – on the evils of drugs thereby enhancing their ability to say “NO!” PO1 Bato’s visit also highlights Mayor Estrada’s own campaign to protect young Manilenyos from drugs, particularly through the D.A.R.E.(Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program which he originally adopted from the U.S. in 1993 during his vice-presidency, and which he revived during his fir term as Mayor of Manila.
