The Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JJASGH) was established on December 15, 2009 upon the implementation of Manila City Ordinance No 8201. It was a 150 bed, specialty hospital whose focus was primarily intended for the mother and child programs, projects and plans but later it was converted to become a general hospital geared towards complete and comprehensive healthcare to include adults and elderlies. Hence, the services include Pediatrics (Developmental, Pediatrics-Infectious, Pediatrics-Cardio, Pediatrics-Allergology, Pediatrics-Endocrinology), Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Surgery (General, Orthopedic, Ophthalmology and ENT), Internal Medicine (Cardiology, Pulmonology, Diabetology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology and Infectious Disease) and Dental Medicine.
Today, JJASSGH is the first among the six (6) hospitals of Manila to be ISO Certified that continuously missioned to provide quality medical care and services to the least privileged residents of the entire District lll (Binondo, Quiapo, San Nicolas and Sta Cruz) with an estimated population of more than 221,780. It also accommodates the medical needs of the other neighboring districts. Also, JJASGH being the first LGU based institution to earn the Mother-Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in 2013 and was able to be re-certified in August 2018. Currently, it has become the favorite hospital of almost all residents of Manila despite having one (1) hospital of their own.

Background
It is a 50-bed capacity primary hospital which provides out-patient services and emergency services under the four specialties- Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Surgery.

Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center (OMMC) occupies a 3,000-square meter government lot located at the corner of Quirino Avenue and Roxas Boulevard. It is a non-profit, Philhealth-accredited, tertiary training hospital with 300-bed capacity, fully supported and subsidized by the City of Manila. OMMC is operated and maintained through taxes paid by Manila residents, hence will have for its primary concern the admission and treatment of patients who are bonafide residents of the city.

OBJECTIVES
Patient Care: To provide the city residents with the quality medical care at the lowest possible cost. Education and Training: To provide a program for residency training in different departments and undergraduate training for medical, nursing, and paramedical disciplines. Public Health: To serve as the center of integrated community health program; and Research: To provide and maintain an atmosphere of scientific excellence in order to stimulate and promote research activities.

Sta Ana hospital is a 200 bed Level II DOH and Philhealth accredited hospital established in 2010, owned and runned by the City Government of Manila . The health facility is departmentalized runned by competent and skilled professional doctors who have completed their residency training and are board certified by their own respective professional medical societies. The Emergency Room is opened 24/7 for patients needing urgent medical care, The Outpatient Department is serving patients with non-emergency medical needs. The OPD is open from Mondays to Fridays 800-500 pm except holidays.
Sta Ana Hospital is departmentalized and run by competent skilled health providers. Each major department have their own OPD subspecialty clinic days that complements with its general medical services. Please refer to the schedule for OPD subspecialty clinics.
The Ancillary services which includes the laboratory and diagnostic services are open 24/7. All services are FREE of charge, as long as the patient is a Manila resident, if not they are automatically enrolled to Phil Health membership (Point of Care/Point of Service). All senior citizens are provided FREE medical services, for as long it is available at the hospital.
Sta Ana Hospital referrals to the other sister Manila hospitals are conducted to facilitate patient needs. For example, referrals for ultrasound, dialysis services are given to Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center, while CT scan and MRI referrals are given to Ospital ng Maynila.

HISTORY
Sta Ana Hospital was constructed in 2009 by the Budget Ordinance 8206 entitled “An Ordinance establishing a District Hospital in the sixth District of Manila, defining its function and providing for its organizational structure, and for other purposes”. The said ordinance paved way for the establishment of Sta Ana Hospital. The initial budget appropriated was at PHP 460 million. Mr Lucio Tan through Tan Yan Kee Foundation donated the land from where the hospital will be built. An additional supplementary budget through Ordinance 8233 dated 19th April 2010 has been approved.
Manila holds the pride of having a hospital in every district.Sta Ana Hospital is the youngest among the six district hospitals owned and runned by the City of Manila. Sta Ana hospital is currently Level 2 hospital with 300-bed capacity.
