D.A.R.E. Officers Training

President Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada draws smiles from his audience after cracking a joke in the course of his brief speech marking the opening ceremonies for the training sessions of the next batch of police and army personnel who are to become D.A.R.E. officers. The Drug Abuse Resistance Education or D.A.R.E. program was established in the U.S. and brought to the Philippines by Estrada during his tenure as Vice-President. At its core is the objective of teaching elementary level students how to say “NO” to drugs by educating them on the destructive effects of these illegal substances. (Photo by Joel Santos)
