Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim opened this morning the fifth city hospital in the third district covering Sta. Cruz, Quiapo, Binondo and San Nicolas as he unveiled the marker of the new four-story hospital.

Lim said the 250 newly -appointed personnel including doctors, nurses and hospital in the hospital will augment the ultra modern facilities that will provide basic healthcare services to the constituents. “Dito sa bagong ospital puro brand new at bago ang kwarto. air-conditioned lahat. Puro bago ang mga equipment. Wala ritong re-furbished, walang second-hand, puro bagong gamit," Lim said proudly..

The Mother and Child Hospital will promote total quality health care services for the people of Manila. The facility aims to be recognized as competitive medical center devoted to excellence in health care. This project of Mayor Lim was made possible with the support and cooperation of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and the Megaworld Foundation.

"Sa ngalan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, isang mainit, at masayang umaga dahil meron tayong pinasisinaayan na sa oras ng pangangailangan na kung tayo ay magkaroon ng karamdaman nariyan ang Ospital na ito na ipinangalan natin kay Justice Jose Abad Santos."

The hospital has a room for sick barangay offiicials, kagawads and tanods, exclusively for Manila residents. "Lahat tayo ayaw magkasakit pero dumarating ito, kaya kailangan pangalagaan natin ang ating kalusugan, sa oras ng pangangailangan nandiyan ang Ospital," Lim said.

Also present in the inauguration were: Senator Jamby Madrigal, guest speaker, Councilors Atong Asilo of District 1, Congresswoman Naida Angping of District 3, Dr. Alfonso Uy, president, Federation of Flipino Chinese Chamber Commerce & Industry Inc. Siy Yap Chua, president Chinese-Filipino Business Club, Lino Uy, executive vice president CFBC., department heads, city employees, barangay chairmans, kagawads and city councilors.
