The City of Manila has improved in its rank among 500 most innovative cities in the world in terms of the use of smart technology and support for start-ups, according to the latest global index.
The capital city and largest metropolitan area in the Philippines is up by 48 places in this year’s global index of most innovative cities, rising to the 239th rank from 287 in 2018.
In Asia, Manila ranked 38th out of 108 cities.
Commercial data provider 2thinknow classified and ranked 500 benchmark cities across the globe based on 162 indicators that measure a city’s cultural assets, human infrastructure, and networked markets.
